Soooooooooooooooooooo Busy!

I feel like I have tons to catch everyone up on... and I just blogged the other day!
We had our first TAB Meeting and it went really well! Everyone was enthusiastic and had tons of great ideas for up comming programs. We talked about 4 big programs we would like to have this year:

An Alternative Fashion Show
Farmington Idol Competition
Film Festival
Open Mic Night/ Gallery Opening

We talked about the logistics of getting these large scale programs off the ground and who would be willing to volunteer some hours. We also discussed voting for TAB Officers. Let me know if you missed anything and if you want to be caught up on the TAB news. Our next meeting will be Friday December 7th from 2:45 - 4:00.

We have a winner for our Farmington Photo Contest!

But we don't know who won! Our winning photo was submitted without a name so we can't properly let them know how much we love it. I will be accepting more photos for the next few weeks, so email them or bring them to me and I will display them in the Teen Area along with the winning photo!

AND......

WE'RE HAVING A PARTY!!!!!
Wednesday November 28th
3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
We have decided to throw a TEEN AREA GRAND OPENING to celebrate our beautiful new furniture, paint and equipment! We love our new Cafe Tables our Computer Bar! We will have snacks and be enjoying our fantastic new Nintendo Wii with Dance Dance Revolution. Please come by and show how much you love our new Area and tell me what else you might want!

Book Talks!

I hope that you have checked out my video book talk I posted last night. I'm really excited about all the possibilities. I'm hoping that I can get a few fabulous and exciting volunteers to help me with my next one. I'm thinking some wonderful actors to portray some characters or even some great spokespeople to give summaries of their favorite books! Let me know if you're interested and we can get started.

Don't forget that this Friday after school is our Teen Advisory Board Meeting!

Stop by and help me make decisions about events and purchases! There will be Pizza and Soda for those who participate in the meeting!

Book End Program

This program was awesome. Everyone brought their creativity to enhance those ugly old book ends.

Now they are fabulous and range from a beautiful butterfly scene to an evil math book end. Check them out while they are on display in the teen area, right by the windows. They'll be there for the rest of this week, and then they can be seen holding books up on the shelves!
Don't forget that Friday is our next Teen Advisory Board Meeting!!!!!There will be pizza but ONLY for those who participate in the discussion.

GIMME YOUR ART!!!!

I think that I would like to spice things up in the Teen Area with some original artwork. I was thinking some paintings, photos, drawings, sketches or anything you've got to share. So hook me up, email me photos or bring them to the library, I'd love to hang them in the Teen Area for everyone to see. You'll get them back after a month so you won't have to part with it for long. If I get enough awesome artwork, I could even throw a Gallery Show!

Let me see what you've been working on!

Halloween Party!

So our Halloween party was pretty amazing if I do say so myself...

It started off kinda creepy with some interesting folks:

and I even got a little scared when a Witch attacked me..

But then it settled down and we started our Halloween Jeopardy match. The competition was tough, but one team prevailed to win fabulous prizes like new books, Farmington High School t-shirts and even some King sized candy bars :

After that we had our costume competition. We had tons of people enter, but again there could only be 1 winner. Johnny ended up taking first place to his surprise with Melanie in second and Kiera and Kayla close behind in third.

It was a great competition with lots of awesome costume. Everyone who competed won prizes and there was even some Halloween candy for everyone at the end. Thanks to everyone who competed and hung out and I hope that everyone had a blast, I sure did!

Don't forget to check out our Book End Painting program on Monday after school in the Teen Area. Just bring your creativity and help spice up the decore of the Teen Area.
