It's Been A Long Time.....

Every Monday after school for the rest of the school year we will have Nintendo Wii in the Teen Area. DDR, Wii Play and Wii Games will be available for starters. We are in the process of getting a PlayStation II and once that gets here it will also be available after school on Mondays. You are welcome to bring your own (RATED E for EVERYBODY) games to play at the library on our big screen, but the library will not be responsible for any lost, broken or stolen games. If there is enough interest, we might also host a few DDR or Guitar Hero competitions!

We are having our next advisory board meeting today after school at 3:00 !

It's a great way to help make the library a cool place for Teens and to gain volunteer hours. Once you join the TAB you will be required to volunteer at least 1 hour a month. It's easy to fill that 1 hour requirement and there are several way that you can do it:

  • Participate in a Reader's Theatre Program
  • Help with a program or event in the Teen Area
  • Write 4 book, movie or CD reviews
If you are up to the challenge and would like to be part of the Teen Advisory Board send me an email and let me know you are interested!

Then take advantage of our Write Off Fines Program!

Submit a book, movie or CD review and receive $4.00 off your library fines. It's that easy! This program is only available to Teens and fines can only be removed for items that have already been returned to the library. Turn in your written reviews to Teen Services Librarian Emily!

Sick of suffering alone on Valentin's Day> Then stop by the library and enjoy our Anti-Valentine's Day celebration! Spurned snacks, forsaken trivia, lovelorn movies and dejected crafts will be available to set those jilted hearts at ease.

So, you can see that there will be plenty going on at the library for you to check out. Come to all of our programs, come to one of our programs or just come and hang out after school in our Teen center. There are tons of activities and events over the next few weeks that you can participate in, but remember that you are always welcome to hang out in the Teen Center to play on our iMacs or catch up with your friends after school!
