Teen Programs

Teen Book Club
Wednesday, May 28th
7:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Stop by the first meeting of the Teen book club and be prepared to hang out and talk about books with other Teens. There is no required reading, just stop by, eat some pizza and talk about books with other book lovers.

Campus Safety Lecture for Farmington High School Seniors
Thursday, June 5th
9:00 a.m to 10:30 a.m.
Hillary Bennett, 2007's Trinity College Violence Prevention Coordinator will lecture and discuss tips to stay safe on a college campus. She will cover personal safety issues, alcohol and drug use and sexual assault prevention. A panel of recent FHS grads will also be present for a question and answer session. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided for those who attend the lecture, and gift card door prizes will be awarded at the end.

This is an excused absence for all FHS graduating senior women.

American Red Cross Babysitter Training Class
Tuesday, June 24th
9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Boys and Girls ages 11 to 15
If you are interested in babysitting over the summer make sure to sign up for this certification and training program.
Learn to:
Care for children and infants
Be a good leader and role model
Make good decisions and solve problems
Keep the children you babysit and yourself safe
Handle emergencies such as injuries, illnesses and household accidents
There is a $75.00 fee for this class payable to the American Red Cross when you register. For an additional fee of $13.50 you can purchase a Babysitting Backpack filled with babysitting supplies and tips!
Pre-registration for this program is required and participation is limited. You must attend the full session to be certified. The library will provide a pizza lunch for those participating in the class.

Open Mic Poetry Reading
Featuring Avon Middle School's 7th grade Language Arts students

Join the Farmington Library Technology Club
Join the Farmington Library Technology Club and learn to manipulate state of the art computers, software and editing equipment. The Farmington Library is excited to offer technology support to the community, but we need your help! We need teens to shoot, edit and record videos, transfer VHS tapes to DVD format, scan and edit historic photos and program video games!
